MEANING: God that Judgeth in the Earth

VERSE: Psalm 58:11

KJ21 so that a man shall say, “Verily there is a reward for the righteous; verily He is a God that judgeth on the earth.”

Actions have consequences. It’s cool that if we live right we get good things. Some of…naaaah.

ASV So that men shall say, Verily there is a reward for the righteous: Verily there is a God that judgeth in the earth.

AMP Men will say, “Surely there is a reward for the righteous; Surely there is a God who judges on the earth.”

AMPC Men will say, Surely there is a reward for the [uncompromisingly] righteous; surely there is a God Who judges on the earth.

Uncompromisingly.

BRG So that a man shall say, Verily there is a reward for the righteous: verily he is a God that judgeth in the earth.

In the earth. I remember doing a thing called a Bible Bowl when I was younger. We were quizzed about the Bible. I got a question about The Lord’s Prayer (Matthew 6:9-13; Luke 11:2-4). I said on earth, as many do, and not in earth. I was wrong. Words matter. On is like the outside and the pretty satellite pictures they show. In is what is contained, exists inside the earth…

CSB Then people will say, “Yes, there is a reward for the righteous! There is a God who judges on earth!”

What He does will be done openly for all to see that He is God and He takes care of the righteous.

CEB Then it will be said: “Yes, there is a reward for the righteous! Yes, there is a God who judges people on the earth.”

CJB The righteous will rejoice to see vengeance done, they will wash their feet in the blood of the wicked;

Yo. The chuckle. Well. 🤷🏾‍♀️

CEV Everyone will say, “It’s true! Good people are rewarded. God does rule the earth with justice.”

Good people are rewarded. But, better yet, He rules with justice. People get what they deserve.

DARBY And men shall say, Verily there is fruit for the righteous; verily there is a God that judgeth in the earth.

Fruit. Something healthy. Sweet. Delicious. Beneficial. Good for you. Life giving. Reward of course.

DRA My God, his mercy shall prevent me.

So interesting some days…

ERV Then people will say, “Good people really are rewarded. Yes, there is a God judging the world!”

EHV Then people will say, “Surely there is fruit for the righteous. Surely there is a God judging on the earth.”

ESV Mankind will say, “Surely there is a reward for the righteous; surely there is a God who judges on earth.”

ESVUK Mankind will say, “Surely there is a reward for the righteous; surely there is a God who judges on earth.”

EXB Then people will say, “There really are ·rewards [fruits] for ·doing what is right [the righteous]. There really is a God who judges the ·world [earth; land].”

GNV And men shall say, Verily there is fruit for the righteous; doubtless there is a God that judgeth in the earth.

DOUBTLESS!

GW Then people will say, “Righteous people certainly have a reward. There is a God who judges on earth.”

GNT People will say, “The righteous are indeed rewarded; there is indeed a God who judges the world.”

HCSB Then people will say, “Yes, there is a reward for the righteous! There is a God who judges on earth!”

ICB Then people will say, “There really are rewards for doing what is right. There really is a God who judges the world.”

ISV A person will say, “Certainly, the righteous are rewarded; certainly there is a God who judges the earth.”

Certainly.

JUB So that a man shall say, Verily there is a reward for the righteous; verily there is a God that judges in the earth.

Verily. I kept reading but came back. I skipped over it above. Jesus says it a lot in the New Testament KJV. I didn’t realize it showed up in the Old Testament. I’m sure I’ve read it. I’ve read all of the book of Psalms. But not as intentionally as I’ve been reading the Bible lately. Merriam-Webster defines it as in truth, certainly, truly, confidently.

KJV So that a man shall say, Verily there is a reward for the righteous: verily he is a God that judgeth in the earth.

AKJV So that a man shall say, Verily there is a reward for the righteous: verily he is a God that judgeth in the earth.

LEB And people will say, “Surely there is a reward for the righteous. Surely there is a God who judges in the land.”

TLB Then at last everyone will know that good is rewarded, and that there is a God who judges justly here on earth.

Judges justly. Not with bias or corruptly.

MSG The righteous will call up their friends when they see the wicked get their reward, Serve up their blood in goblets as they toast one another, Everyone cheering, “It’s worth it to play by the rules! God’s handing out trophies and tending the earth!”

The imagery. My chuckle and headshake. But….

MEV and people will say, “Surely there is a reward for the righteous; surely there is a God who judges on the earth.”

NOG Then people will say, “Righteous people certainly have a reward. There is an Elohim who judges on earth.”

NABRE Then the just shall rejoice to see the vengeance and bathe their feet in the blood of the wicked.

Um.

NASB And people will say, “There certainly is a reward for the righteous; There certainly is a God who judges on the earth!”

NASB1995 And men will say, “Surely there is a reward for the righteous; Surely there is a God who judges on earth!”

NCV Then people will say, “There really are rewards for doing what is right. There really is a God who judges the world.”

Really. Really. Frfr.

NET Then observers will say, “Yes indeed, the godly are rewarded. Yes indeed, there is a God who judges in the earth.”

Yes indeed!

NIRV Then people will say, “The godly will get their reward. There really is a God who judges the earth.”

NIV Then people will say, “Surely the righteous still are rewarded; surely there is a God who judges the earth.”

NIVUK Then people will say, ‘Surely the righteous still are rewarded; surely there is a God who judges the earth.’

NKJV So that men will say, “Surely there is a reward for the righteous; Surely He is God who judges in the earth.”

Surely. Skippwd over it a bunch. But surely. Without doubt. No question.

NLV And men will say, “For sure there is pay for those who are right and good. For sure there is a God Who says who is guilty or not on the earth.”

For sure. There is pay.

NLT Then at last everyone will say, “There truly is a reward for those who live for God; surely there is a God who judges justly here on earth.”

Then at last. After the struggle ends. After time has passed. Eventually. At some point.

NRSV People will say, “Surely there is a reward for the righteous; surely there is a God who judges on earth.”

NRSVA People will say, ‘Surely there is a reward for the righteous; surely there is a God who judges on earth.’

NRSVACE People will say, ‘Surely there is a reward for the righteous; surely there is a God who judges on earth.’

NRSVCE People will say, “Surely there is a reward for the righteous; surely there is a God who judges on earth.”

OJB So that adam shall say, Verily there is a reward for the tzaddik; verily yesh Elohim Shofetim ba’aretz (there is a G-d that judgeth in the earth).

TPT Then everyone will say, “There is a God who judges the judges” and “There is a great reward in loving God!”

Judges the judges. Great reward in loving God.

RSV Men will say, “Surely there is a reward for the righteous; surely there is a God who judges on earth.”

RSVCE Men will say, “Surely there is a reward for the righteous; surely there is a God who judges on earth.”

TLV The righteous one will rejoice when he beholds vengeance, when he washes his feet in the blood of the wicked.

Speechless. But that behold. Look at. See.

VOICE And it will be heard, “Those who seek justice will be rewarded. Indeed, there is a God who brings justice to the earth!”

Those who seek justice will be rewarded. God who brings justice.

WEB so that men shall say, “Most certainly there is a reward for the righteous. Most certainly there is a God who judges the earth.”

Not just certainly. Most certainly.

WYC And a man shall say truly, For fruit is to a just man; truly God is deeming them in earth. (And someone shall say, Truly there is a reward for the righteous; truly God is judging people here on earth.)

Deeming. Per Merriam-Webster, to come to think or judge, consider.

YLT And man saith: `Surely fruit [is] for the righteous: Surely there is a God judging in the earth!’

MEANING: God My Helper

VERSE: Psalm 54:4

As soon as I saw the meaning I said this is finna be bomb. I also happened to be listening to Fred Hammond’s “God Is My Refuge: with lyrics that include “a very present help in the time of trouble” (the song is just Psalm 46:1).

MEANING: Holy God

VERSE: Joshua 24:19

KJ21 And Joshua said unto the people, “Ye cannot serve the Lord, for He is a holy God; He is a jealous God; He will not forgive your transgressions nor your sins:

ASV And Joshua said unto the people, Ye cannot serve Jehovah; for he is a holy God; he is a jealous God; he will not forgive your transgression nor your sins.

AMP Then Joshua said to the people, “You will not be able to serve the Lord [if you serve any other gods], for He is a holy God; He is a jealous God [demanding what is rightfully and uniquely His]. He will not forgive your transgression [of His law] or your sins.

Thanks Amplified! I was gonna go look to see why Joshua told them this.

AMPC And Joshua said to the people, You cannot serve the Lord, for He is a holy God; He is a jealous God. He will not forgive your transgressions or your sins.

BRG And Joshua said unto the people, Ye cannot serve the Lord: for he is an holy God; he is a jealous God; he will not forgive your transgressions nor your sins.

I still went and looked at the chapter to see what was up. He was warning them about serving other, strange gods…AMP was on it but still

CSB But Joshua told the people, “You will not be able to worship the Lord, because he is a holy God. He is a jealous God; he will not forgive your transgressions and sins.

CJB Y’hoshua said to the people, “You can’t serve Adonai; because he is a holy God, a jealous God, and he will not forgive your crimes and sins.

CEV Joshua said: The Lord is fearsome; he is the one true God, and I don’t think you are able to worship and obey him in the ways he demands. You would have to be completely faithful, and if you sin or rebel, he won’t let you get away with it.

I like.

DARBY And Joshua said to the people, Ye cannot serve Jehovah, for he is a holy God; he is a jealous God; he will not forgive your transgressions nor your sins.

DRA And Josue said to the people: You will not be able to serve the Lord: for he is a holy God, and mighty and jealous, and will not forgive your wickedness and sins.

This.

Doth certainly.

It’s great to know He takes care of others in our way. We should also let Him take care of us in our way.

Moses and Aaron missed out on the Promised land because there attitude towards the children of Israel caused them to disobey (Numbers 20:11-12).

Saul didn’t follow God’s exact instructions and lost the throne (1 Samuel 15).

David, who replaced Saul, wasn’t where he should have been, had an affair with a married woman, had her husband killed after she got pregnant and he wouldn’t sleep with her, lost that baby, and couldn’t build the temple (2 Samuel 11; 2 Samuel 12; 1 Chronicles 22).

Now Job. He went THROUGH. But he took his feelings to God. God let him speak. Then He told him who He was and checked him. Job recognized. He also didn’t let his friends sway him. They told him to curse God and die. Job was like it’s a no for me dogs. God checked his friends, told them to go to Job and take a sacrifice, and Job would pray for them. He told them to do that so He wouldn’t deal with them based on what they said. They did it, Job prayed, and God turned it around. (This is all scattered through the book but the last part is in chapter 42.)

Jesus spoke and the wind and sea came into subjection (Luke 8:23-25; Mark 4:37-41; Matthew 8:23-27). Jesus spoke so many times in the Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, John) and his word alone changed lives.

NRSV
In the beginning when God created the heavens and the earth, the earth was a formless void and darkness covered the face of the deep, while a wind from God swept over the face of the waters.

The previous copule didn’t use the word face. But. Face makes it sound like it is the living thing that it is. Well that some see water is. Jesus called himself the living water (John 4:10-11). He said rivers of living water would flow out of the belly of those who believe on him (John 7:38).

Forsooth the earth was idle and void, and darknesses were on the face of (the) depth; and the Spirit of the Lord was borne on the waters [and the Spirit of God was borne upon the waters].

Interesting word usage. But made out of nothing. Nothing was there. That’s what a void is. Tuh. God still comes in and fills voids if we let Him. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8). And wow. Borne. I know it isn’t born. But that’s what I thought of since ya know they are pronounced the same.
